Hotmail back to year 2007

Hi all

I would like to share with you that i have been selected as a Microsoft MSP(Microsoft student partner).I am glad and honoured to be a part of Microsoft Team.

As the mail suggested i signed up at Student-partners.com and started exploring the MSP portal. As it was required i signed up for a student-partner E-mail id i was redirected to sign up page.

After signing up you are redirected to Your live id.I signed out and logged back to my MSP portal.I came back and thought of logging into my mail now.

After i clicked the link i found something very unusual.I was redirected to the hotmail sign in page ,But the Sign in page was of year 2007 with a login area of year 2009.

Feels like hotmail is back in year 2007.

And i wish merry christmas to all my Viewers.

Office 15 in Planning Just Like Windows 8

Not only has the dust didn’t get a chance to settle on Office 2010, but there’s no dust whatsoever seeing how the next iteration of the Office System is still in Beta, but Microsoft is already looking ahead, to the “next next” version of Office. The successor of Office 2007 was codenamed Office 14, although technically it was the 12th release, Microsoft looking to skip the unlucky version number, a release which will obviously be followed by Office 15. At the start of this month, Microsoft offered official confirmation indicating that planning for Office 15 is starting even before Office 2010/Office 14 is finalized.
“As Office 2010 nears shipping, we are starting to plan Office 15. One area that we are considering improving is our SQL Server support. Based on what I’ve heard from the community, that would be most welcome. Note that we are very early in planning, and considering many possible areas of investment, I unfortunately can’t commit to any actual improvements at this time,” revealed Greg Lindhorst the person looking into how to improve Access and SQL Server for Access 15, according to Microsoft’s Clint Covington. “This is where you come in… I need your help to understand the need for improvements and make the case for improved SQL support.” (via Mar… (read more)

Mininova gone Legal!

After losing a civil dispute against Dutch anti-piracy outfit BREIN, Mininova has decided to remove all torrents from their website except the ones that were uploaded via their content distribution service. Their content distribution service was launched back in 2007 and it allows users to easily publish and distribute their content for free. From today onwards, there will be no illegal content on the website.

Mininova is one of the largest torrent site which was founded in 2005 by five Dutch students as a small project which gained much popularity since Suprnova was shut down due to legal issues. Earlier this year the Dutch anti-piracy outfit BREIN decided to take Mininova to court after various takedown requests for copyrighted material. The case for taken to court in June and the verdict was for Mininova to remove all illegal content from their website or face penalties. It says on their blog that many filtering systems were tried but all in vain. They have yet to decide whether they will appeal the verdict.

Microsoft released new Security Compliance Toolkits today to help Microsoft customers: plan, deploy, and monitor the security baselines of computers running Windows 7 and BitLocker Drive Encryption, plus many other products. You are given a choice of preconfigured security baselines depending on if your within an enterprise or at home, once selected you apply the settings to your operating system and Microsoft applications. I hope Windows 8 will included this by default!

Security Help included in the Windows 7 version

Security Guide –This guidance provides you with best practices and information about automated tools to help you plan and deploy your security baseline.
Security Baseline Settings workbook – A resource that lists the prescribed settings for each of the preconfigured security baselines the guide recommends.
Security Baseline XML – An XML file that allows customers to consume the data defined in the Security Baseline Settings workbook.
GPOAccelerator tool – A tool that you can use to create all the GPOs you need to deploy your chosen security configuration.
INF Files – INF files for Windows 7 and BitLocker.
